How many of us wish we could move more in a day? How many of us have a desk job? My goal for the year 2020 is to move more! Let’s all start together. Here are a few suggestions on ways we could move more.
A fitbit may help you track on steps you get in a day. If you have a smart phone you could also download a free application that will track your steps.
Set days/times in your week to get in a fitness routine. You don’t need a gym membership. Start by walking in your neighborhood or the nearest shopping mall.
Increase your daily movements.
Park far from the entrance to the mall, grocery store or school.
Drink your water so bathroom visits during the day will increase as well.
Whenever possible use the stairs.
Set a timer on your phone to remind you to stand and stretch.
Have fun going on an active date. Instead of a lunch/dinner date, go for a walk on the beach or park. Window shopping at the mall is always fun!
Find an Active hobby. Water Aerobics is a fun activity. Find the nearest community pool to you and sign up for free classes. If water activity is not your thing, you can find a hiking group to explore the nature that surrounds us. Photography is another great hobby to keep us moving and exploring.
Donate your free time to volunteering.
Find a nonprofit to help clean up our neighborhood and parks.
Sign up for a walk/run that may be coming up.
Sign up for your child’s field trip that involves movement.
