Bucket list: a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.
How many of us have a bucket hidden in their closet? How many of us have a bucket full of hopes, dreams, things to do before our time nears? How many of us have a bucket but it is empty? If your bucket is empty, lets start filling it today! If your bucket is full, adding to the list is perfectly fine. But what is more amazing is checking off that list in our bucket!
You could say as a young girl I started adding to my bucket list. I hoped and dreamed that one day removing my training wheels and riding my bike with no hands would someday come true. After numerous strawberry knees and gravel in my palms, I finally got it! Looking back makes me wish I could experience that sensation of flying as I courageously removed my hands from the handle bars. I’m now adding tandem skydiving to my bucket list!
As I entered my young adult life my bucket list was filled but the “checks” were not visible. As I neared my adulthood, I was blessed with the opportunity by the sacrifices of my family to start putting myself first.
I am very humbled and grateful to have experienced checking off many things from my bucket list. To name a few, I learned how to dance hula which lead to Merrie Monarch (2010 Hooike), a trip to Japan, a weight loss journey of over 100lbs, improving my health, getting off prescription medications and finding a new career where I can help others who like myself strive to become healthy. My most recent bucket list experience has been a dream come true for me and that is riding a one man and paddling with an amazing club. Being out in the water is where I find peace. So much so I can almost taste the Rainbow.
Lets all make 2019 a year where we start to check off one accomplishment at a time. No hesitation because 2018 will be just a memory.
