Researchers in Japan who previoiusly developed an anti-arthritis compound called Synoviolin have found that it may also affect harmful fat tissue. They found that giving Synoviolin to mice resulted in a reduction in yellow-white, or visceral fat – the type of fat that is responsible for increased risk of heart disease. This is only a prelminary study, but it adds to the growing body of research that can eventually link abdominal obesity with pain and inflammation.
